Guidelines for a Purpose Driven Vestry Retreat

Guidelines for Purpose Driven Vestry Retreat

Adaptive Purpose

The adaptive purpose of the Guidelines for a Purpose Driven Vestry Retreat is to “begin the work” of knowing who we are, what we know about ourselves, what we know about others, and what exactly we think we are trying to do (purpose) in God’s name.

There are 23 adaptive questions used as a way to invite sacred conversations at the first session of the annual vestry retreat.

These guidelines are to help your leadership team to:

  • access their personal history
  • share their sacred stories
  • develop trust and build intimacy

We believe they will support and help a conversation with the annual Mutual Ministry Review and promote the spiritual health of the mission and ministry of a church.
